European Partnerships Programme under the “RESTART 2016-2020” Programmes for Research, Technological Development and Innovation – Programmes Period 05/2022 – 12/2023, and invites beneficiaries to submit relevant Project Proposals (Proposals).

This Call for Proposals concerns the participation of entities from Cyprus in the sixth (6th) Call1 of the EUROSTARS-3 Programme, which is part of the Co-Fund Action “Partnership on Innovative SMEs” and aims to support innovative enterprises to develop new products, processes and services through the implementation of cross-border projects and to commercialise the new knowledge.

This Call will be co-funded by the Republic of Cyprus and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), under the Cohesion Policy Programme “THALIA” 2021-2027 under Priority 1: “Competitive, Smart and Digital Economy” and Specific Objective (1i): “Develop and strengthen capacity for research and innovation and the adoption of advanced technologies”.

DESCRIPTION

The European Partnerships Programme offers the opportunity for the participation of Cypriot institutions in international research and innovation projects in fields and thematic areas of major importance for the country. At the same time, it promotes extroversion, cooperation and networking of research organisations and businesses in Cyprus with institutions from other countries through their participation in projects implemented in the framework of European Partnerships in which the country participates. European Partnerships are initiatives in which the EU, national authorities and/or the private sector jointly commit themselves to support the development and implementation of a programme of research and innovation activities.
The Partnerships will: address the complex challenges outlined in Horizon Europe, such as accelerating the transition to a climate-neutral and circular society and economy; support the achievement of EU priorities such as the European Green Deal, “A Europe ready for the digital age”, “An economy serving people” and “A stronger Europe in the world”; build on impact by developing a wide range of R&D activities, from concept to demonstration and validation; and support the implementation of the EU priorities such as the European Green Deal, “A Europe ready for the digital age”, “An economy serving people” and “A stronger Europe in the world” and contribute to a stronger European Research Area (ERA) by avoiding duplication of efforts, generating critical investment and strengthening synergies between programmes.
